Apstrakt:
Azerbaijan has large reserves of oil and gas, and therefore the fuel and energy sector occupies a significant place in its economy. Tourism development began receiving more attention in recent years. Azerbaijan is an Islamic state that has good potential for the development of religious tourism. The paper analyses the present state of tourism in Azerbaijan, the potential and opportunities for the development of religious tourism, while special attention is paid to the influence of globalisation on the development of tourism in accordance with the covenants of the Koran.
