Design Considerations for Electric Vehicle Power Conversion System

Apstrakt:
One of today’s key challenge is reducing the emissions and improving the fuel economy of vehicles. To meet this goal the automotive industry is developing electric vehicles based on different technologies including batteries or onboard power generation in case of fuel cells. Power electronics is an enabling technology for the realization of environmental friendly vehicles. It allows to implement various electrical architectures to achieve the best performance. In this paper aspects of the design of electric vehicle power conversion systems regarding the current ripple distribution are discussed.
