Researche on the Issues with the Low Cost Power Supplies for Personal Computers

Apstrakt:
The paper is reporting some of the results from research on the implementations, usage, testability, serviceability, recycling and reuse of the low costs mass production power supplies (PSs) for the personal computers (PCs) compatible with IBM PC. A critical evaluation of the specifications and implementations of popular PSs is done. The major issues are listed and proposals to correct some of them are given. External universalized power supply with continuously reviewed specifications was proposed in order to overcome the major drawbacks of the present industry standard specifications and implementations.
