Determination of the Curvature Radius when Investigating a Road Traffic Accident

Apstrakt:
The paper considers a methodology for determining the curvature radius of a road section. The methodology can be applied in investigating curves of variable curvature radius. The equation of the curve in a selected coordinate system can be obtained by using a linear regression of general type or a polynomial regression. The methodology proposed could be used in automobile expert practices and jurisprudence when deciding road traffic accident cases.
