Problems in Assessment of Knowledge and Intellectual Capital

This report presents a summary of the problematic issues related to assessment of knowledge and intellectual assets. To meet the challenges of the new knowledge-based society, organizations must change their way of governance. Accordingly, "knowledge" became a key production factor in the financial statements, although still dominated by traditional factors of production such as buildings and machinery. Therefore it is imperative to pay greater attention to "knowledge as capital", or so-called intangibles.
