Serbia in Conditions of Transitional and Global Economic Crisis and Measures Taken by the Serbian Goverment and NBS in Order to Mitigate the Consequences

Since the crisis began to manifest itself, Serbian Government in cooperation with NBS has enacted a program of measures with the aim of avoiding the recession and accomplishing the continuity in GDP growth, taking care not to violate the concept of enterprising as the basis of economic system. Analysis is directed to: 1) overflow of the effects of global crisis on the Serbian economy, 2) measures program of Serbian Government and NBS in conditions of transitional and global financial and economic crisis and the results in revitalization of the economy and enterprises, 3) real constraints with which the Serbian economy is faced, at the achieved level of economic growth and 4) critical review and proposed measures for achieving the results, i.e. to create the basis for long-term and sustainable economic growth.
